Sharjah Wins the Emirates Award for Recycling Inks

Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority won the first place at the state level for the fourth year in a row, in waste management and recycling of printer inks award in the enterprise category, which is organized annually by the Emirates Environmental Group – EEG for collecting and recycling 2,063 ink bottles.

Abdullah Abdul Rahman Al Shamsi, Director of the General Department of Institutional Support Services at the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority had this to say, “The authority’s winning of this award in light of the current circumstances confirms its interest in the environment and the keenness to launch various initiatives that contribute to raising the level of cultural and knowledge awareness among members of society about the importance of rationalizing energy consumption and preserving energy. “ Needless to say the environment takes into account the environmental aspects in all the projects it implements.

For her part, Eman Al-Khayal, Director of the Information and Communication Technology Department, explained that the inks recycling campaign organized by the department contributed to the collection of 2,063 ink bottles for recycling.

Ahmed Hussein Abdullah, Head of Operation and Technical Support at the Information and Communication Technology Department of the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority, pointed out that the number of participants in the award categories exceeded nearly 200 schools and 690 government and private entities and companies in the annual waste management campaigns, who voluntarily joined the special waste management initiatives.

For her part, Habiba Al Marashi, founding member and head of the Emirates Environmental Working Group, praised the achievement of the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority for winning the award for the fourth year in a row, which reflects the authority’s interest in environmental aspects and its keenness to adhere to social responsibility such as e-commerce and food and beverage, by delivering enhanced sustainability and improved cold temperature performance.”

The new BioPreferred hot melt adhesives include the C4500 and C4510. Engineered for cold temperature performance, they are ideal for a broad range of food and beverage applications, including cold packaging, fresh meats, weigh scale, cheeses and functional beverages.
