One of UAE’s leading corrugated cardboard box manufacturers Universal Carton Industries LLC (UCI) has announced plans to increase its production capacity by investing 55 million dirhams to meet the growing market demand.
With this, UCI, which began operations in 2014, aims to boost its production capacity by threefold from its current capacity, to 1,00,000 tons annually. Located at Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone’s (RAKEZ) specialised Al Ghail Industrial Zone, UCI’s new 3,75,000 square-feet facility is scheduled for completion next year and aims to increase its manpower by 300 employees.
Managing Director of UCI Arsalan Pirani says, “This expansion will not be limited to increasing our share in the UAE and GCC markets, but will also extend its scope to include targeting new strategic global markets. With the extension of our European food grade corrugated plant in Ras Al Khaimah, complete with modern equipment and innovative technologies, we will have achieved an unparalleled production capacity by becoming the pioneers of sustainable packaging solutions.”
