The First Palestinian Supplier of Plastic Packaging Materials

Palestinian companies rely heavily on imports for packaging films. One company is working hard to help packaging food companies source their required film locally.   Al-Jarashi Company, which is specialized in supplying plastic food packaging materials is the biggest and the only supplier of packaging films in Palestine.

Walid Al-Jarashi, director of Al-Jarashi Company, says that the company started its activities in 1993 as a commercial printing company. However, in 2014 management decided to change course and focus on packaging because of the market dynamic and demand.

Al-Jarashi added that the Palestinian market faced shortages of packaging material, while at the same time most companies were importing packaging materials from Israel, Arab countries, Turkey and Europe. He also maintains that the quality of Al Jarashi products is high and competes with European products. The company is now taking a large share in the market.

He pointed out that Al-Jarashi Company meets most of the food factories’ needs and quality standard. He says exporting is also possible, but there are issues such as shipping and transportation costs which hinder the company’ attempt for exporting the products.
