Sharjah Department of Culture Launched 60 New Titles
During the past eight months, the Sharjah Department of Culture and Information (SDCI) have Launched more than 60 titles in various types of creativity and knowledge. This has greatly helped in enriching national and Arab libraries by lighting a new torch in writing and knowledge, in addition to benefiting scholars, researchers, and those interested in literature, arts, and various fields of culture.
His Excellency Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Owais, Chairman of SDCI said that these publications included 26 titles in the field of creativity, poetry, story and novel, six titles in children’s literature, 12 titles in the field of cinema, theater, and plastic arts, in addition to titles in the field of critical studies, encyclopedias and university theses.
Al Owais added that the department’s total publications constitute an important accumulation of knowledge over the past years, as the total publications reached nearly 1,800 titles in various fields of creativity, some of which constituted a qualitative source for plastic arts and poetry.
The Chairman also stressed on the keenness to ensure the availability of its publications in Arab and international book fairs, national libraries in Arab countries, and in platforms and outlets for marketing books locally, amongst Arab nations, and internationally. He also spoke about the opportunities for new creators and researchers specializing in the field of composition, theater, poetry, and cinema, and to enhance the needs of the Arab library, especially with the growth of creative giving in these fields in order to spread knowledge.
