Onyx Graphics Expands ONYX 18 Certification Workshops

Onyx Graphics has announced the formal launch of two new colour management and profiling workshops that have been added to its portfolio of training and certification offerings. Following the success of the ONYX 12.2 workshops, these new ONYX 18 workshops now incorporate the new ONYX Color Engine, ColorCheck, AccuBoost, and PosterColor 2.0 functionalities as well as iccMAX compatibility of the company’s award-winning ONYX 18 software. The one- and two-day programmes – offered at both introductory and expert levels – focus on real business scenarios to help attendees understand the importance of colour management in wide format workflow and apply that knowledge to produce superior colour output that can be validated to their customers.

The Fundamentals of Colour Management and Profiling workshop is an introductory programme designed to help ONYX operators gain more control over their colour output. Attendees will also be introduced to PosterColor 2.0 for smart saturation and ColorCheck, a process control toolset to meet customer brand colour needs, maintain consistency over time, and match standards such as G7 and Fogra.

The ONYX Certified Advanced Colour Management and Profiling workshop is offered to experienced ONYX operators, print production technicians, and colour specialists; it includes hands-on application of colour standards and advanced profiling techniques to take their knowledge to the next level.

Attendees will learn how to apply the power of ColorCheck to validate colour output and set internal process control measures to verify colour consistency before printing, saving ink and media costs. Attendees will also learn how to apply AccuBoost iterative ICC profiling techniques to fine tune profiles, ensuring the highest levels of colour accuracy.

“As an ONYX user, the highlight for me was the hands-on profiling in the ONYX Experience Center, particularly when using white or other specialty inks,” said Ray Weiss, Director of Digital Print Programs at Specialty Graphics Imaging Association. “I came away with a much better understanding of ONYX software, including features I hadn’t discovered on my own. The skills I learned will help me do a better job teaching colour management for SGIA. I highly recommend this class.”

In addition to these two new programmes, Onyx Graphics continues to offer ONYX Certified Technician and ONYX Certified Operator workshops specifically designed for print production technicians and production operators to help them get the most out of their ONYX software solutions.

ONYX Certification workshops are designed to help users differentiate themselves as leaders in wide-format print applications and make the most of their print production environment to maximise their investment.

“Our interactive certification workshops are designed specifically for print production technicians, print operators, and colour specialists to help them make the most of their ONYX environment,” said Bryan Manwaring, Director of Product Marketing at Onyx Graphics. “With hands-on application using our ONYX Experience Center, we have found ONYX certified graduates have gone back to their businesses with new skills that have improved their print production efficiency and output quality, directly affecting their bottom line.”
