Nilpeter To Unveil New Integrated Digital Press At Labelexpo 2015

Nilpeter has announced the global launch of its new digital line including the five-color DP-3 UV inkjet a new digital product line at Labelexpo Europe 2015. The Panorama line uses UV inkjet and workflow technology developed by Screen and an integrated finishing line newly developed by Nilpeter. The print engine will be branded DP-3 and uses Screen’s Truepress imaging technology to deliver a top speed of 50 m/min (164 fpm) at 600 dpi resolution with four gray scales.

This integrated approach to single-pass digital printing from a single supplier offers users many operational benefits, including high performance and optimal up-time, through close integration of digital print and label converting.

‘Nilpeter will be responsible for printing, converting, finishing and workflow – thus the Panorama 360 view,’ said Nilpeter Sales & Marketing Director Jakob Landberg. The press will be supported by Nilpeter’s safe service setup, with remote repair assistance, maintenance and trouble-shooting.

Designed for fast setups and quick job turnarounds, the PANORAMA product-line is highly productive in the fastest growing of all label sectors. It produces a variety of label jobs in short-to-medium run lengths with minimum wastage. Users are well placed to meet brand-owners’ demands for high quality labels in smaller quantities, in line with global trends towards product diversification.

Nilpeter has developed its own converting system as part of the Panorama project and the strategy will be to make both in- and off-line solutions available. The new printer will be configured with 5-color inkjet (CMYK plus white), UV flexo varnish, QC (Quick Change) die cutting, smart waste handling and multi-roll rewinding.

Landberg further added, “The next steps are to integrate our other value adding features like flatbed hot foil, embossing, UV screen and water-based flexo 12 months down the line. This will be a hybrid future based on a new flexo platform that will form the base for our converting and can integrate all value adding units from the FA* line.’

Nilpeter has adapted several of its inline finishing modules to digital production.
