Kapci Seals Multi-million Pound Deal with Sun Chemical
Egyptian market leader paint company Kapci Coatings has begun procedures for establishing a factory for the production of printing inks in partnership with the Sun Chemical Group S.p.A. Italy, with an investment cost of about 150 million Egyptian pounds (EGP).
Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kapci Coatings Mohamed El-Sayed revealed the allocation of a 10,000 sq m plot of land in the city of 10th of Ramadan for the construction of the new factory.
Kapci owns three factories in Port Said, Al Robeky, and 10th of Ramadan, in addition to the new inks factory for the production of automotive refinish, wood coatings, decorative paints, industrial paints, and ink and resin.
El-Sayed announced that Kapci Coatings will have a 40% stake in the partnership with Sun Chemical holding a majority 60%. He also emphasized on the project’s aim of meeting the needs of local demand for printing inks as well as exports, specifically to African markets.
He explained that the company aims to expand with new investments in the coming years to increase the volume of production and exports. Kapci registered total sales worth EGP 3.5 billion in 2021, a growth of 10% as compared to the previous year.
