Egypt Targets 10% Growth for Printing & Packaging Exports

Egypt’s Export Council for Printing & Packaging has set a strategic goal of achieving 10% annual growth in the sector’s exports, based on its confidence in the role of printing and packaging as a vital driver of enhancing the competitiveness of Egyptian products in the international market.
This was confirmed by the Export Council Chairman Nadim Elias in a press statement issued on the sidelines of the opening of the 13th edition of ProPak MENA and Fi Africa held recently in Cairo. He added that the printing and packaging sector spearheads Egyptian exports. “As packaging creates the first impression of a product on consumers, especially in foreign markets, it is a pivotal element in enhancing a product’s image and marketing opportunities,” explains Elias.
He further elaborated that many major export industries, such as food and pharmaceuticals, are paying increasing attention to developing packaging systems, recognising the importance of this element in improving product quality and enhancing their global competitiveness.
The head of the Export Council explained that the growth of the printing and packaging industry has a positive impact on multiple production sectors, including food and beverages, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, retail, and others.
Today’s packaging is no longer a simple item for protecting goods, but rather adds real value by improving the final appearance of products, improving their functionality, and raising their quality. “Good packaging not only helps protect the product from external influences during shipping and storage, but also serves as an effective marketing tool through attractive designs that provide clear information to consumers and enhances sales opportunities, both in the local and export markets,” adds Elias.
The printing and packaging sector indirectly contributes between 7% and 10% of Egypt’s total non-petroleum exports, reflecting the sector’s crucial role in supporting the country’s industrial and economic growth.
