AMGTA Promotes 3D Printing as Alternative Manufacturing
The Additive Manufacturer Green Trade Association (AMGTA), a US-based global nonprofit organization, founded to promote the green benefits of additive manufacturing (AM), commonly known as 3D printing, announced the joining of an additional six leading AM companies within its fold, bringing the number of its active members to 33 from 11 countries.
Launched in November 2019, AMGTA seeks to educate the industry stakeholders as well as the public to adopt additive manufacturing as an alternative to traditional manufacturing, resulting in less waste and greater efficiency. The association also aims to develop the best practices for AM and help fellow members achieve business growth and acquire a larger customer base.
Divergent Technologies Inc., leading designers of the auto industry using 3D printing, joined AMGTA as a new founding member. The company’s digital production system, the Divergent Adaptive Production System (DAPS), radically transforms auto manufacturing economics and its impact on the environment using a data-driven approach for designing and manufacturing vehicle structures. Joining Divergent Technologies will be existing founding members ExOne, a global leader in industrial 3D printing systems and services using binder jet 3D printing technology; Sintavia, LLC, a world-leader in additive manufacturing of advanced propulsion systems powering a new generation of flight and launch vehicles; QC Laboratories, Inc. (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sintavia), an advanced non-destructive testing lab with an expertise in providing all disciplines of NDT services for aircraft, marine, and construction materials; Stratasys, a global leader in 3D printing solutions for automotive, aerospace, industrial, recreational, electronic, consumer products, and healthcare OEMs; and Taiyo Nippon Sanso Corporation, a multinational industrial gas manufacturer and one of the world’s leading gas suppliers.
“I’m excited to officially welcome aboard Divergent Technologies, our new founding member, as well as each of our new participating member organizations,” says AMGTA Executive Director Sherry Handel. “Our esteemed global trade association is fully committed to supporting our mission and provides a solid foundation as we continue our growth and strategic investment in manufacturing sustainability research projects as well. I look forward to working with all of our members as we strive to expand AMGTA as a premier supplier to the industry committed to promoting sustainability in the manufacturing sector as well,” she adds.
