SCZONE, Turkey’s Eroğlu Ink $175m Packaging Plant Deal

The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) has finalised a significant investment agreement with Eroğlu Global Holding A.Ş. – a diversified Turkish family conglomerate – to establish a carton and packaging factory in West Qantara Industrial Zone.

SCZONE Chairman Waleid Gamal El-Dien signed the contract with Nurettin Eroğlu, Chairman and founder of Eroğlu Global Holding A.Ş., with a total investment of $175 million.

The new facility will cover an area of 70,000 sq m, and is projected to create 2,000 direct job opportunities. The factory will produce Tetra Pak units, carton boxes, and sheets, with 50% of the production allocated for export and the remaining 50% directed to the local market, strengthening the domestic supply chain.

Gamal El-Dien stated that the project strengthens the industrial supply chain, adds value to Egyptian products, and increases the total number of projects in West Qantara Industrial Zone to 52, with cumulative investments of $1.531 billion and providing 72,665 direct job opportunities.

Eroğlu Global Holding A.Ş. has a substantial presence in the region, with three other projects in the zone. This new carton and packaging factory represents the group’s fourth project, solidifying its position as the largest industrial investor in West Qantara Industrial Zone.
