Korea’s Flagship Printing Show Goes Biannual

Korea International Printing and Graphic Arts Industry Exhibition (KIPES) is Korea’s biggest printing show. The last edition of the show was held in 2012 during which organizers of the show announced KIPES is changing from a yearly occurrence to a twice-a-year show.

The upcoming edition will be held from 27 to 30 August 2014. The reason for change is obvious.

South Korea as any other advanced industrial country enjoys (or suffers, depends on how you look at it) a mature printing industry. Although KIPES legacy like drupa and Ipex is offset but during past few years the number of offset exhibitors decreased drastically.

The show is now a blend of digital and large format printing as well as packaging and narrow web presses, many of them unknown in Middle East.  The organizers of the show Korea E&Ex Inc. and Korean Printers Association are eager to make this event more international by inviting delegations and journalists from around the world.

In 2012, 225 companies from 22 countries exhibited at the show.

This year the show is bigger and so far 300 companies from 25 countries signed up to participate at the event. Other than printing and prepress equipment a wide range of converting equipment will also be at display in KIPES which will take place in Korea International Exhibition Centre (KINTEX) centre Hall 7, 8.
