Magdy Hanna of Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI) and Chamber of Printing & Packaging Industries said that a supply shock from China created a negative impact on global trade, including the paper sector and its products.
He pointed out on the need to expand paper manufacturing in Egypt to attract investors, who would be encouraged to open new factories to control market needs and reduce imports, in accordance with the current strategy to rely on national production and attracting investors in different sectors.
Hanna spoke of the growing interest in the industry as a major boost to exports, reducing pressure on foreign currencies, and providing local and national production that suffices the needs of internal markets.
