Egypt Jumps on Digital Transformation Bandwagon

Keeping in line with President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi’s huge plans in digital transformation, Prime Minister Mostafa Kamal Madbouly, witnessed the signing ceremony of the cooperation protocol between the Ministry of Justice, the Secure and Smart Documents Complex, and Egypt Post, for printing and distributing of financial disclosure statements. The endorsement was attended by Counselor Omar Marwan, Minister of Justice, and Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology.

The protocol was signed by Counsellor Tamer Ferjani, Assistant Minister of Justice for Illicit Graft Affairs, Dr. Sharif Farouk, Chairperson of Egypt Post, and Dr. Khaled Salah, Executive Vice President of the Secure and Smart Documents Complex.

The protocol aims to develop and update financial disclosure statements and transform them into smart data, which can be saved and traced to secure these documents from forgery or data violation. It also aims to identify mechanisms to follow up on all executive work and its accuracy, and to have advanced mechanisms for exchanging information between the signatories without any prejudice to the confidentiality of data and information.

Justice Minister Marwan pointed out that the protocol comes within the framework of implementing the presidential mandates regarding securing of the ministry’s documents and its issuance.

Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr. Talaat specified that Egypt Post will distribute insured forms of financial disclosure declarations, which will be received from the insured and smart issuance pool, and make them available for sale in all its postal outlets.

Dr. Salah, Executive Vice President of the Secure and Smart Documents Complex, clarified that the complex will print the required number of insured forms to deliver to the postal service as per the insurance specifications that have been agreed upon, with a commitment to provide additional quantities of these forms requested by the Ministry of Justice.
