The Printing and Packaging Sector Exports Increased by 39%

The Exporting Council of Printing and Packaging in Egypt announced that the sector’s exports during the first half of this year increased by 39% to record 436.5 million dollars, compared to 314.4 million dollars during the same period last year.

The monthly report issued by the council showed an increase in the “packaging” sector exports by 51%, valued at $284.4 million, compared to $188.7 million during the same period last year. Paper exports increased by about 21%, valued at $142.5 million, compared to about 118.2 million according to the Middle East News Agency.

Exports of “books and printing” increased by 42%, to the tune of $7.5 million, compared to $5.3 million. Meanwhile 6 countries accounted for 48.5% of the sector’s total exports, including “Sudan, Libya, Saudi Arabia, US and Britain.

In another development “Africa Food Processing” exhibition kick starts today, with the participation of more than 150 international and local companies in the field of food and beverage manufacturing from more than 16 countries.  The 3 days exhibition is being held at the Egypt International Exhibition Center.

The exhibition covers four major food processing sectors, which include food ingredients, manufacturing, packaging, and logistics. Companies from India, Turkey, Russia, Spain and Belgium will showcase their products and services and it is expected more that 4000 visitors will attend the show.
