The 16th Edition Of Cards And Payment Middle East Concluded With A Surprise

The 16th Cards and Payments Middle East, the region’s fastest growing smart cards and payments event was held from 12th to 13th May, 2015 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. It show paved way for regional and international experts from the payments and commerce industry to converge at one platform and debate about the future of money and the business of payments. Cards and Payments Middle East was organized by the Middle East arm of Terrapinn, a world leader in business events. The event featured over 300 exhibitors across showcasing the latest innovations in cards and payments technology and solutions, and welcomed 10,000 visitors from across the region and the globe.

The 2015 edition of the event comprised of five streams including Cards and Payments Middle East, Future Bank, the Retail Show, the e-commerce Show, and the Mobile Show. Over 750 representatives from banks, telecoms, government and retailers from every one of the 22 Arab states, Africa, India and Turkey crowded the keynote theatre, to discover the innovations and technologies that are transforming the payments industry across the globe. Some of the noted speakers were Jassem Mohamed Al Bloushi, Head Of Retail Banking, Sharjah Islamic Bank, Al-Ramli Aref, Head Of Electronic Business And Innovation, Mashreq Bank, Simone Ranucci Brandimarte, CEO, Go Swiff amongst others. ”

‘Dubai Plus’ city privilege card, an exclusive card for government and semi-government employees launched  by the Department of Economic Development (DED) in Dubai and the Dubai Government Human Resources Department (DGHR) together with National Plus and Network International, a payment solutions provider at the event. This card is intended to offer various benefits and discounts including loyalty points on purchases and services.
