EIRA Water Pioneers Changes for a Greener Future

For many, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword; it’s a call for action. At EIRA Water, it’s an integral part of the company ethos. As global conversations turn towards preserving the environment, EIRA has unveiled a series of initiatives placing it at the forefront of sustainable innovation in the water industry.

As waste reduction is an immediate concern in manufacturing, EIRA has risen to the challenge by recycling all glass scrap produced at their factory. This not only reduces waste but also conserves resources and minimizes environmental footprint.

Anticipating shifts in industry and consumer preferences, EIRA has announced the launch of an aluminium range of water in mid-2024. Being lightweight and highly recyclable, aluminium is an excellent alternative to traditional packaging. Utilizing the advanced NNPB (Narrow Neck Press & Blow) technology, EIRA has also managed to produce glass bottles that are 20% lighter, which in the long run, translates into thousands of tonnes of glass saved annually. Fewer raw materials mean decreased energy consumption during production, reduced emissions, and an overall lighter carbon footprint.

As a significant shift towards sustainable energy consumption, a state-of-the-art factory is set to be operational in the first half of 2024. The facility will be fully powered by hydroelectricity, a zero-emissions source of energy.

The premium Norwegian water brand opened its new HQ in Dubai on 8 August, 2022, solidifying its MENA market position. EIRA CEO Nils Jorgen Sehested says, “Not only is Dubai conveniently located between Europe, Asia, and Africa, making air travel easier, it also gives our growing number of colleagues in the Middle East an ideal place to work from.”

Located by Eresfjord, one of Norway’s most pristine and vast fjords, EIRA water streams from the base of a forty-metre-deep ravine. The water goes through many layers of quartz, which acts as a natural filter and does not pass through any kind of soil or organic material, reaching its source cold and pure. Low in minerals, the water is bottled unfiltered, straight from the source, making it one of the world’s top drinking waters.

EIRA is actively delving into other innovative packaging solutions and working on supply chain improvements to reduce carbon footprint at every stage of production and distribution. The company is also maximizing its glass range by introducing more formats.

Considered the selected water of choice for many luxury restaurants and hotels and MICHELIN Star chefs around the world for its purity, taste, colour, and high-quality standards in the industry, EIRA is a prominent fixture at top F&B venues across the MENA region.
