RAKEZ and AJT Sign $50M Industrial Expansion MoU

HH Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, witnesses signing ceremony in Fuzhou, China
The Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) and AJT Holding International Limited have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Fuzhou, China, marking a new phase of industrial expansion in Ras Al Khaimah. Under the terms of the agreement, AJT Holding will invest an additional $50 million within the economic zone, a move set to further strengthen economic and investment ties between the UAE and China.
The MoU was signed by RAKEZ Group CEO Ramy Jallad, Jihong Chairwoman Zhuang Hao, and BMJ Industries Group Chairman and Managing Director Ahmad Bkairat during the Ras Al Khaimah delegation’s recent visit to China. The high-profile signing ceremony was witnessed by HH Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah.
The expansion will be undertaken through AJT Printing and Packaging FZ-LLC, a joint venture between China’s Jihong, a specialist in packaging manufacturing, and BMJ Industries, which brings an established business network across the Middle East and Africa. Building on its existing manufacturing operations in Ras Al Khaimah, the company aims to diversify its product portfolio and strengthen its production capabilities to serve regional and international markets.
Under Phase II, AJT plans to introduce new production lines for water-based and UV inks, environment-friendly paper bags and more, while expanding its warehousing and logistics capabilities. The investment will build on the company’s existing manufacturing infrastructure, with provisions for additional industrial space to accommodate future growth.
AJT’s established operations in RAKEZ comprise integrated printing, packaging, and corrugated carton manufacturing facilities, producing packaging solutions for industries including food and beverage, retail, consumer goods, and logistics. The new investment will broaden these capabilities, supporting the company’s ambition to develop Ras Al Khaimah as a regional base for packaging production and trade.
“AJT’s decision to further invest in Ras Al Khaimah reflects the confidence that international manufacturers place in our industrial ecosystem and the opportunities available for long-term growth. We are proud to be part of its growth journey and to see our partnership contribute to stronger industrial ties between the UAE and China, while creating new opportunities for sustainable economic growth,” comments Jallad.
The expansion marks another milestone in RAKEZ’s efforts to attract and retain international manufacturers, reinforcing Ras Al Khaimah’s growing role as a hub for industrial investment and long-term business growth.
