The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) has signed a contract with Chinese packaging printing company Haiyan Ximei Printing Co., Ltd. for establishing a plant to provide packaging, labelling, and printing services for ready-made garment and textile factories in SCZONE’s West Qantara Industrial Zone.
The agreement was signed by SCZONE Chairman Waleid Gamaleldien and Haiyan Ximei Chairman Weiguo Wang in the presence of senior executives from both sides.

The 30,000 square metre factory with a $10 million investment is expected to create 160 direct jobs. The project aims to export 70% of its output, in addition to meeting the needs of the textile and garment factories in West Qantara.
The SCZONE has been stepping up efforts to localise and deepen industrialisation by attracting complementary industries, including accessories, packaging, printing, dyeing, and finishing. “These efforts represent a strong addition to the integrated industrial clusters for textiles and clothing in the area, reducing production costs through the use of locally sourced raw materials, intermediate goods, and logistical services as alternatives to imports,” says Gamaleldien.
