Muscat Printing Press (MPP), a subsidiary of Al Rawas Holding LLC and one of the major print houses in Oman has added another Xerox machine to its stable of equipment.
With almost 27 years under its belt MPP specializes in the production of commercial print, stationery, brochures, magazines, newsletters, calendars, annual reports, leaflets, posters, promotional literature, labels and text books. MPP also offers design and artwork preparation services.
Muscat Printing Press had previously invested in a Light Production Xerox Colour Press 700, but due to increased demand and profitable growth during past 3 years the company opted for Xerox’s flagship ‘five’ colour digital press – the Colour Press 1000. The fifth colour is a transparent toner which can be applied to either a pixel or entire sheet at the full rated speed of 100 impressions per minute.
Just over 3 years ago MPP’s deputy managing director, Rajan Pillai spotted the opportunity to better service the Oman marketplace with a faster turnaround of client work. Also the improved costs and efficiencies that digital brings with short to mid print runs meant that MPP could offer a superior timeframe for delivering work at a competitive price point. “The new machine performs far better than I expected, we have already given it lots and lots of varied work and the results are fantastic”.
MPP have immediately taken advantage of the fifth colour and applied it in various different ways to marketing material etc. The new press is bundled with FreeFlow Print Server which feeds and automates jobs at high speeds.
Based on the information provided by Xerox the demand for shorter run print is growing rapidly and it will only be a matter of time before further digital equipment is installed at MPP. In fact this timescale may be accelerated with the recent industry finding that more and more offset work can be transferred to the CP1000.
