King Khaled University To Establish Department Of Printing And Publishing
The President of King Khalid University (KKU) Prof. Abdulrahman Hamad Aldawood recently issued a resolution to create a department for Publication and Printing Press at the university. The new department will raise the profile of the university by deepening its goals through academic publication of works, translations, and scientific journals. Moreover, the newly created department will seek to achieve a community partnership to build a knowledge based society, and to meet the University’s needs of High Quality Publications.
On this issue, the Dean of Library Affairs and the Supervisor of the University publication Department, Dr. Saeed Bin Qassim Al-Khalidi, explained that “King Khalid University is one of the largest Saudi universities, based on the number of students, stakeholders, and faculties.
Therefore, it is necessary to establish a department for its own printing press to contribute to the enrichment of scientific production of its employees”. He said,” Printing Press Department will have an important role in dissemination of knowledge around the university, starting with the student, then onwards to the teachers”.
Al-Khalidi also clarified that the objectives of the establishment of publication department and printing press are to provide printed books, enrich knowledge through printing and provide printing service for the university publications as well as everything that is related to the diverse activities of the University, and the needs of the university faculties and departments: such as academic books, annual reports, various scientific journals issued by the university, in addition to conferences, seminars and workshops, which are being held at the university throughout the year.
