IMC Plans to Boost Printing and Packaging Sector in Egypt

Representatives of the Egyptian Industry Modernization Center (IMC) for the printing and packaging sector organized field visits to a number of factories in the Tenth of Ramadan and the Sixth of October cities, where the new strategy of the center was presented, as well as the benefits from the services provided, and the programs that could be used by the factories in order to boost their productivity.

Nevin Gamea, Minister of Trade and Industry announced that the ministry is coming up with a comprehensive plan aiming at restructuring of the Industry Modernization Center to restore its effective role as a major player in the Egyptian industry development.

She also said that the during the next the ministry will focus on maximizing the growth rates and exports of companies that benefit from the services of the center, in addition to developing industrial and artisan clusters and value chains for various industrial sectors.

Jameh pointed out that the ministry supports the Center to restore its main role as an advisory arm for the ministry and a key factor in implementing many initiatives related to the industrial sector.

Nevine Gamea has directed the Industrial Modernization Center (IMC) to count the factories in various manufacturing sectors, with the aim of participating in presidential initiative “Decent Life” and studying potential technical support services and labor that could be provided.

“Decent Life is a distinct opportunity for local industry. It will help factories operate at full capacity, lure new investments into the domestic market, as well as create new jobs,” Gamea said.

She pointed out that factories would cater to the industrial requirements necessary to implement the initiative, which was launched by President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to improve the quality of life in rural areas and achieve sustainable development.
