Egypt’s Export Council for Printing to Explore Morocco Market
Sara Ibrahim, Executive Director of Egypt’s Export Council for Printing, Packaging, Paper, Literary and Artistic Works, announced the groundwork of an Egyptian trade mission to visit Morocco this September, as part of the export council’s plan to promote its future vision.
She added that the mission aims to include around 15 Egyptian printing and packaging companies to make their mark in the Moroccan market and to find prospects for joint cooperation to increase Egyptian exports.
The export council’s report for this year’s first five month period showed a 49% growth, recording $512 million as compared to $344 million for the previous year.
The packaging sector saw an increase of 38% during the period from January to the end of May, 2022, bringing exports to $264.9 million as compared to $191.2 million during the same period in the previous year.
In a related context, Egypt’s flexible packaging exports recorded a growth of 38%, bringing exports from $136.8 million in the first five months of 2021 to $187.2 million this year for the same period. Corrugated carton exports increased by 36%, from $211 million to $286 million for the same period.
