Canon Middle East Participates at IDC Saudi CIO Summit

Canon Middle East took part at the recently concluded IDC Saudi CIO Summit, which took place from 25th to 26th September in Jeddah. It is a platform where CIOs, CTOs, businesses and IT executives share insights on strategies, emerging technologies, and best practices that have direct implications for their business.

This year the focus of the summit was managed print strategies. According to the figures from IDC, managed print services account to a $ 23.3 bn global marketplace.  It is estimated that by 2015, managed print service is expected to grow into a $ 40.5 bn market opportunity.

Naoshi Yamada, Deputy Managing Director, Canon  Middle East said, “Most companies only look at the initial cost of hardware without taking into account other running costs such as consumables, electricity, IT support and user productivity. To overcome these challenges, organizations should have an office print strategy in place enabling them to know how many hardcopy output devices they have, narrow down the number of output devices to fit what they actually need, monitor how much they spend on documents and track helpdesk support calls. Canon’s Managed Print Service genuinely manages the print environment to deliver significant savings.”

During the summit, Canon showcased an array of its integrated managed print solutions, which included the Uniflow Version 5.1, which is a single, scalable and flexible platform for managing office printing and scanning.
