Canon Emirates Taps Into Government Sector With Managed Print Services For Etihad Rail
Following the strong demand among UAE enterprises for Managed Print Services (MPS), Canon Emirates has announced a new MPS deal with Etihad Rail, the developer and operator of the UAE’s national railway. The deal is further evidence of the company’s strong position among the top providers of printing solutions in the country.
Etihad Rail selected Canon Emirates as its preferred Managed Print Services partner to provide a wide range of products including multi-functional printers, laser printers and also implement Uniflow – Canon’s integrated print and scan management solution.
Shadi Bakhour, General Manager, Canon Emirates, said: “Canon is committed to providing the industry’s best products, solutions and professional services and helps customers achieve cost efficiency. We are glad to play an instrumental part of Etihad Rail’s IT infrastructure which has helped the organisation reduce its overall print related costs, which in-turn has helped improve efficiency and employee productivity.”
Uniflow, Canon’s integrated print and scan management solution, provided tailor made reports for Etihad Rail enabling the company to understand and optimize the asset utilization, while reducing the operational cost. With the Canon MPS contract in place, Etihad Rail’s support team is able to focus on its core activity while Canon Emirates ensures maximum uptime of the printing solution using e-maintenance and other structured reporting from Uniflow.
Commenting on the successful utilisation of Canon’s MPS, Mr. Mohamed Al Marzouqi, Executive Director-Business Support, Etihad Rail, said: “Considering the nature of our work, it is imperative that we adopt IT practices entailing the highest levels of security on the documents being scanned, printed or faxed by our employees while maintaining a strategic approach on reducing operational costs. Our previous print infrastructure couldn’t meet our increasing print requirements and imposed a lot of down time which affected the overall productivity.”
“We look forward to achieving greater efficiencies and reliability as we replace our conventional print system with Uniflow through the partnership with Canon Emirates. We have already started seeing the return on investment and print cost savings with the implementation of the MPS solution in place,” added Al Marzouqi.
In addition to achieving a reduction on the overall printing cost, Etihad Rail is yielding tangible results including high uptime of the machines and better understanding of asset utilization. Through quarterly reports, the team is also able to scale the fleet. It has also enabled the Company to identify heavy-user departments and discuss strategies to reduce the high volume.
“With our advanced technology, Etihad Rail is now able to capitalize on Canon’s years of research and development in digital colour imaging and document reproduction. We are proud to add Etihad Rail to our growing list of MPS clients and cater to their needs,” concluded Bakhour.
