Cairo to Host Egy Stitch & Tex Expo

The Egy Stitch &Tex international exhibition, the largest and most important of its kind in the development of the textile industry in the Middle East and Africa, will launch its eleventh edition at the Cairo International Convention Center (CICC), Nasr City, from 14-17 October, 2021, with focus on spinning, weaving, dyeing and finishing sectors, printing technology on fabrics, knitting technology, machinery, accessories, and chemicals.

A number of agents and manufacturers of machines specialized in spinning and weaving, and digital printing technology for fabrics will participate in the exhibition. This comes within the framework of Egypt’s strategy and plan to revive and develop the spinning and weaving industry and support the country’s exports of textiles and ready-made clothes. The organization of this mega event takes into account the large and steady growth in the demand for digital printing technology on fabrics, furnishings, and clothing, both at the local and international levels.

Wael El-Kady, member of the Board of Directors of Vision Fairs, the organizer of the exhibition says, “This year’s exhibition is witnessing a new concept to keep pace with the great renaissance witnessed by the country in various fields of the industry, as we always strive to achieve the principle of innovation and sustainable development.  The textile industry and ready-made garments are one of the key economic and industrial sectors that the state places among its most important plans to advance the national economy, especially since Egypt is one of the leading countries in this ancient industry. Currently, Egypt is working on implementing the largest plan to revive the textile industry in El-Mahalla and Kafr El-Dawar, through a comprehensive modernization of production lines and the establishment of the largest spinning factory in the world in El-Mahalla.”

“This year, the exhibition is witnessing for the first time new and innovative activities to support the textile and printing industry. We are organizing a two-day training course on textile printing, in addition to launching a competition for the best design stemming from the Egyptian identity, and the winning designs will have the opportunity to present them to the public. Organizing this huge event comes in the context of the growing demand for digitally printed fabrics, furnishings, and clothing, whether at the local, regional, or international level,” adds El-Kady.

Concurrently, the Cairo Textile Week (CTW 2021) will also be held on 16-17 October, 2021. The CTW 2021 is a virtual knowledge platform where experts and specialists in the textile industry meet, and highlights the latest innovations in the textile industry with a special focus on the latest applications and technologies of digital printing on fabrics. Furnishings and clothing, offered by some of the most popular brands globally and at the local level, provide an unparalleled opportunity to work and form networks of communication between the various stakeholders in the textile sector, and the opportunity to build a platform for communication between manufacturers at home and abroad.

On his part, exhibition manager Haitham Rady has this to say, “Our strategy aims to make this exhibition the main event to make available the technology of the textile industry and digital printing on fabrics, furnishings, and clothing. It provides various opportunities for international, regional, and local companies working in the textile and digital printing industry to increase their business volume, achieve exceptional sales, and open various distribution channels within Egypt and the North African region.”
