British Industries Printing & Packaging Co. Expands Mailroom Facility

The British Industries Printing & Packaging Co. in Shuwaikh is expanding its mailroom with a new ProLiner inline newspaper inserting system from Muller Martini along with a NewsStack stacker.

Founded in 1993, the company is on a constant expansion path and in future plans to print high-quality newspapers, magazines as well as additional heatset and coldest products. In addition to their traditional commercial products, last year it decided to install a combined press delivery system/newspaper mailroom system from Muller Martini. It consists of two NewsGrip A lines, which ensure the quiet and secure transport of products, a Preciso high-performance rotary trimmer for reliable and precise three-sided trimming at maximum press speeds as well as two packaging lines with a Listo stacker and an Orgapack strapping machine for perfect packages.

British Industries had already planned to expand its mailroom by an inserting machine. Due to delays in commissioning the new press delivery system, all systems from Muller Martini will now be put into operation at the same time in early October – the machines NewsGrip A, Preciso and Listo will be joined by a ProLiner and a NewsStack compensating stacker.

Newspapers in Arabic and English

British Industries chose the ProLiner with two main product feeders and six insert feeders because of its high level of flexibility for inserts. The publishing house’s flagship, the broadsheet daily newspaper, which features a heatset cover, can run up to 52 pages, which can be filled with editorial pre-printed sections, flyers, saddle-stitched and perfect-bound brochures as well as cards.

The main products are fed from the press delivery system directly into the ProLiner (press-to-hopper method). What is very important for British Industries is also the fact that ProLiner can process newspapers in broadsheet and tabloid formats in both Arabic and English. Due to the different title orientation in each language, the newspapers have completely different overlaps.
