Baldwin “Press Enhancement Seminar”
On the 13th of May Baldwin hosted a “Press Enhancement Seminar” in Dubai, with 30 delegates from leading Newspaper and Publication printers based in the United Arab Emirates, (UAE) and Bahrain. The seminar centred on how the wide range of Baldwin equipment available could help give a printer the edge and enable him to produce copy, “faster, cheaper and better”, it was supported by Baldwin’s agent in the UAE, Giffin Graphics, who work with the local printers on a day to day basis.
The keynote speaker was Michael Crawley, Production and Manufacturing Manager, of Westferry Printers in the UK. Westferry along with Broughton Printers, print the Daily Express, Sunday Express and Daily Star, as well as many more contract titles, on their recently installed 22 towers of KBA Commander CT. Westferry have the full gamut of Baldwin ancillary equipment, Mr Crawley was well placed to speak on the advantages he has found from his Baldwin “add-ons”, such as Blanket Cleaning, Web Cleaning, Ink Roller Cleaning, Spray Dampening and Fluid and Temperature Control Systems (FTS). The Baldwin systems have provided savings in paper consumption, reduced downtime, ink consumption and improved environmental conditions. From Baldwin, Per Stenflo, Sales Director Spray, FTS & Web, John Leek, Sales Director Cleaning and Michael Joyce, Sales Director Consumables were on hand to answer any questions the delegates had.
The seminar was followed by a dinner where the guests were able to chat informally to the Baldwin hosts and to Michael Crawley. The event was a huge success with a great deal of varied questions been asked throughout, the Baldwin directors commented; ”We are extremely grateful for the help we have received from our agent Giffin Graphics in hosting this event, it has given us a great opportunity to get close to our customers in the UAE and an even better opportunity to get involved with helping them improve performance and productivity on their presses”.
