Egypt’s Chamber of Printing & Packaging Joins WPO
Egypt’s Chamber of Printing & Packaging Industries of the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI) has been awarded the degree of full membership of the World Packaging Organisation (WPO) as part of efforts to improve performance and strengthen the role of the chamber locally and internationally.
The award ceremony took place in Germany in the presence of the chamber’s chairman Nadim Elias, and the membership gives the chamber the power to vote on organizational decisions.
The chairman praised the chamber’s work and effort, that took nearly six months to meet all requirements, to join the WPO which includes a large number of experts and those interested in the future of the global packaging industry.
Elias confirmed that the required paperwork was presented to the WPO evaluation committee in order to review the technical details for its final approval.
The WPO membership allows for continued engagement with the global packaging community, the distribution of cutting-edge packaging methods and technologies, and the promotion of the Egyptian packaging industry, which encourages investments and international trade.
Headquartered in Vienna, Austria, WPO is an international non-profit, non-governmental international federation of national packaging institutes and associations, regional packaging federations and other interested parties such as corporations and trade associations whose primary mission is to provide “better quality of life, through better packaging, for more people.”
