Children’s magazine can often be fun and informative. But a certain magazine in Tunisia proved its enthusiasm by publishing a step-by-step instruction on making a Molotov cocktail bomb. The Arab magazine “Qaws Qouzah” (which means Rainbow) is now facing a lawsuit by the government for taking that extra ‘informative step’.
According to Bloomberg, the Tunisian Ministry for Women and Family Affairs expressed their concern over the article and the threat it poses to children, as it encourages them to use Molotov cocktails.
The popular magazine, for age group 5-15, published the article using colourful illustrations and instructions to assemble the lethal mix. The illustration reads like this, “Molotov cocktail – is a home- made incendiary weapon, which consists of a glass bottle and a folded cloth dipped in a flammable liquid (oil, alcohol or petrol).”
The name ‘Molotov’ was coined by Finnish soldiers in World War II in honour of Vyacheslav Molotov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Soviet Union during the Soviet-Finnish war of 1939-1940.
Charges that could be directed against publishers might include incitement to violence, according to Stuff news website.
