Dubai’s Modern Press Installs Heidelberg Versafire EP

Needing to keep up with the company’s exponential growth, Dubai-based Modern Printing Press has installed a new Heidelberg Versafire EP four-colour digital printing system.

Since 1966, Modern has been one of the pioneers and widely-acknowledged commercial printers in Dubai and the recent addition of Heidelberg’s new high-performance digital press is expected to boost the firm’s proven track record in producing high-quality print works.

“Versafire EP delivers an extremely stable production at a constantly high speed and has been systematically enhanced for the needs of customers in the graphics industry,” says Roger Nicodeme, General Manager at Heidelberg Gulf Est.

The new inline sensors enable the machine to control the colour automatically during the print run, by analyzing colour changes and making adjustments accordingly. The automatic inline registration processes as well as a mechanical lateral register guarantees excellent print quality, with the front-to-back and sheet-to-sheet registration staying consistent, even on long runs.

With a capacity to print up to 135 A4 pages per minute and the ability to process substrates up to 470 gsm at lengths of up to 27.5”, Versafire EP also opens up opportunities in short run packaging and prototyping. The digital press prints banner formats with a maximum length up to 1260mm, as well as auto duplex up to 1030mm.
