Oman Post Inks Deal with e-Boks to Launch Digital Postbox

Oman Post, Oman’s national postal operator, has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Denmark-based digital communication platform e-Boks to establish and operate Oman’s official national digital postbox.

The digital postbox will serve as the official, secure channel for all communications between government entities, businesses, and individuals. The platform is a cornerstone initiative in advancing Oman’s digital government, strengthening data sovereignty, and enabling a more efficient, individual-centric economy in line with Oman Vision 2040.

The cooperation is designed with the vision that every individual and entity in Oman will gain access to a verified digital mailbox – a secure solution that ensures legal validity and complies fully with national data-protection requirements. The national digital postbox will centralise the delivery of official documents, including bills, contracts, statements, and notices, replacing fragmented channels with a single, trusted source of truth. By moving high-volume communications to a secure, always-on digital channel, Oman will accelerate e-government adoption, reduce administrative costs, shorten service turnaround times, and minimise paper consumption to support the country’s sustainability commitments.

“This partnership is a strategic investment in Oman’s future,” says Nasr Albusaidi, Chief Postmaster General (CPG) at Oman Post. “The national digital postbox will help government agencies serve people faster, give businesses a secure and legally recognised way to communicate at scale, and provide individuals with a verified digital mailbox for the documents that matter most. It advances Oman Vision 2040 by improving quality of life, strengthening private-sector competitiveness, and safeguarding national data, while positioning Oman Post at the forefront of postal digitisation and powering the Sultanate’s digital future.”

e-Boks CEO Ulrik Falkner Thagesen says, “Oman Post’s vision aligns with our two decades of experience building secure digital postbox solutions for governments, postal organisations, and enterprises worldwide. Together, we will deliver a platform that is secure by design, interoperable with public and private systems, and ready for nationwide adoption. Our collaboration includes knowledge transfer and local capacity building to ensure the solution is resilient, compliant, and future-proof for Oman’s evolving digital economy.”

By combining Oman Post’s national mandate with e-Boks’ international expertise, the agreement sets a new regional benchmark for secure, customer-centric postal innovation. It also marks a decisive step in the Sultanate’s digital transformation, delivering tangible benefits for households and businesses while strengthening national resilience and economic diversification.
