Press Faces Closure For Printing Quran Without License
The officials from the directorate of investigations in Cairo recently closed a printing press in Egypt for illegally printing and distributing 2590 Quran copies. The Quran was printed without obtaining permission from the Al-Azhar Al Sharif Islamic Research Academy and without a license from the Department of Intellectual Property Rights under the Ministry of Culture.
The General Directorate of Investigation, Cairo stated that Mohamed Ahmed, owner of Dar Al Safwa printing press was termed guilty for printing and distributing the Quran copies. The General Directorate for Investigations notified that legal procedures will be carried out on the press and the case has been referred to the public prosecutor for further investigations.
