New Convention on Imaging & Printing at drupa 2024
drupa, along with its new partner – media production company New C. – is creating a new and fascinating presentation format. To be held for the first time during drupa 2024 (28 May to 7 June, 2024), the five-day convention ‘dna (drupa next age) x Imaging’ will focus on the significance of imaging technologies with regard to print and communication, bringing active players in the industry together.
Why do printed images have a special relevance? What will the future role of AI for photography and print products be? Which quality and sustainability requirements must be met by manufacturers and service providers? Which innovations regarding printed images promise market growth in the future? These and other relevant questions will be the subject focus of dna x Imaging, which will be held from 1 to 5 June, 2024, where international experts will offer intense and inspiring sessions providing business ideas and inputs about imaging technology in print.
“We see many shared technologies and questions, as well as markets that overlap and mutually drive each other, within the imaging and print business. So along with New C., we have developed the new format dna x Imaging, which will present new prospects to the international visitors at drupa as well as concrete business potentials,” says Sabine Geldermann, Director drupa, Portfolio Print Technologies, Messe Düsseldorf GmbH.
Wolfgang Heinen, CEO, New C. GmbH & Co. KG, adds, “Photography and print have always gone together. Newspapers, magazines, photo books, packaging, etc. are hardly imaginable without printed images. Relevant technologies, too, are showing significant parallels. Printing an image is what makes the content relevant. What potential this has for the future will be revealed by dna x imaging.”
Different topics each day: from Image Quality to Sustainability
The first day of the convention is dedicated to ‘Imaging Artificial Intelligence: How AI defines the future of imaging and print’. In five short lectures, dubbed “inspiration snacks”, well known speakers will offer interesting background knowledge and practical demonstrations on improving businesses, with a final get-together concluding each day’s proceedings.
The programme’s other topics include ‘Tomorrow’s imaging print products’ (2 June), ‘What exactly is image quality, and why should I think about it?’ (3 June), ‘Sustainability as an advantage in competing’ (4 June), and ‘Innovations as driving forces in the imaging and print markets’ (5 June).
dna x Imaging is part of the drupa next age (dna) forum. The summit, located at central hall 7.0, brings well established companies and drivers of technological innovations together with industry newcomers, young talents, and start-ups, providing the necessary stimulus to the industry’s direction.
