Komori Expands Semiconductor Footprint with Maruyama Buy

In a major move to accelerate its growth in the high-tech electronics sector, Komori Corporation has officially announced the acquisition of Maruyama Chiller Corporation as a wholly-owned subsidiary.

The board of directors finalised a share transfer agreement, securing all outstanding shares of the chiller manufacturing specialist. This strategic transaction aims to integrate the unique core competencies of both businesses to capture emerging high-demand opportunities in the global industrial market.

The acquisition serves as a key pillar in Komori’s midterm management plan, which places a heavy emphasis on growing its printed electronics business. By bringing Maruyama Chiller into the group, Komori intends to combine its own advanced printing technology with Maruyama’s precise temperature control engineering. This integration will significantly enhance the production capacity, mass production readiness, and overall technical capabilities of Komori’s existing subsidiaries, allowing the company to meet the expanding technological needs of the semiconductor manufacturing field.

Beyond technological synergy, the acquisition immediately provides Komori with an established global infrastructure. Maruyama Chiller brings a robust, long-term customer network across prominent international markets, including Tokyo, Taiwan, Shanghai, the United States, and Singapore. Komori believes that leveraging these widespread global customer bases, along with consolidating human resources and production facilities, will establish a strong competitive advantage in the semiconductor industry and ultimately maximise long-term company value.
