JOPEX 2023 Showcases Jordan’s Growing Packaging Sector
The 3rd edition of Jordan Packaging Exhibition (JOPEX 2023) was held in the capital city of Amman on 5-8 June, 2023, with local and international participation.
The four-day exhibition, organized by the Eastern Amman Investors Industrial Association (EAIIA) – a regional, non-profit organisation – was held at the Jordan International Exhibition Center, part of Mecca Mall, Jordan’s largest shopping mall.
24 leading packaging companies from Jordan participated in the expo, along with packaging experts, designers, researchers, and buyers from different parts of the world, displaying a range of their innovative products and solutions.
Dr. Iyad Abu Haltam, Chairman, EAIIA, says, “The EAIIA hosted around 30 investors and businesspersons from Iraq, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and the UAE who visited the exhibition to learn about the latest packaging technologies and solutions Jordan had to offer, conclude mutual trade deals, and open new marketing and export channels for Jordanian products.”
Additionally, EAIIA Vice Chairman Mohammed al-Saudi feels that Jordan’s packaging industry has witnessed a remarkable development in recent years by becoming globally competitive, keeping pace with developments, and introducing the latest specialized machinery into the sector. Jordanian packaging products, especially in the food and pharma sectors, were able to reach global markets and gain a good market share with innovative solutions and latest technologies used in packaging.
Reflecting back on JOPEX 2023, al-Saudi says, “The exhibition’s aim was to network companies in the industrial sector and identify innovative products and ideas as solutions in packaging, which would help other industries to export their products. It also constituted an opportunity for businesspersons, industrialists, and merchants to get acquainted with the latest packaging technology and learn about the sector’s creative solutions provided to companies and businesses to export their products and support competitiveness locally and globally.”
JOPEX 2023 was jointly held with the 18th Jordan International Machines & Electromechanical Exhibition (JIMEX 2023).
