“Digital printing in the commercial arena as well as for labels, packaging and Folding cartons has been growing tremendously in the past years. Combined with the evolving consumer taste and the recent unprecedented moment of economic disruption, it is evident that now more than ever, it is our role as technology suppliers to bring wider choice of innovation to the digital printing market in the UAE”, says Adir Ariel, Central Europe, Middle East, Africa Regional Business Manager at HP.

The award-winning HP Indigo 7K allows commercial printers to expand their capabilities and open new business opportunities with high-value applications by using a wide range of specialty inks and media. It uses liquid electrophotography (like other HP Indigo presses) to print on a maximum sheet size of 13 x 19 in (330 x 482 mm). The press is equipped with a 4-drawer feeder, with a 7 drawers upgrade option. It supports substrates with thicknesses ranging from 70-400m. Each drawer can hold a different media type – from black and colored media to metalized, coated, uncoated, kraft, and synthetics. Customers can even print on synthetics in duplex mode.

In addition, HP Indigo has expanded the Indigo 7K media range up to 550 microns in duplex mode , using the new Thick Substrate Kit, allowing customers to deliver premium products such as thick business cards, greeting cards, folding carton applications and much more – even in duplex mode, making the 7K the only digital press that can print thick media in duplex mode. Another unique feature newly introduced is heat transfer media support. Using a new, high-end, certified media, which is optimized for the Indigo 7K, the press can print high-end heat transfer labels.

In addition to the ability to step up to endless applications and opportunities, the HP Indigo 7K also allows commercial printers to streamline operations with simple, smart, and automated tools that improve press availability and make using the press easier. The HP Indigo 7K can produce up to 160 color pages per minute using EPM – the Enhanced Productivity Mode which emulates a 4 color printing process using C, M, Y only, with no black. The HP Indigo 7K includes an EPM decision-making tool, embedded within the press’ cloud integrated DFE. The tool automatically analyses every job and diverts it to a relevant hot folder, assuring customers are saving costs and increasing productivity in the simplest way possible.

“In an ever-changing market, whether it is Labels, Flexible packaging, General commercial or even folding carton printing, the landscape has forever been changed by the impact of Covid-19. HP Indigo can address all the key areas where these changes have been highlighted in the current print production methods. Whether it be supply chain management and digital inventory with Print on demand supply; predictability of colour, cost, repeatability; even regulatory compliance – HP Indigo adds Value to markets where previously the focus was only on Volume,” comments Ronnie Louw, Regional Sales Manager at Dynagraph.

The introduction of HP Indigo to the regional printing market is a big step towards increase quality and a gateway to the ultra- modern digital printing technology.
