GreenPlast to Reshape Plastics with Technology & Innovation

GreenPlast, the international exhibition-cum-conference dedicated to technologies and materials for the processing of plastics and rubber, with a strong focus on environmental sustainability and energy efficiency, returns to Fiera Milano from 27-30 May 2025.
The 2025 edition confirms the event’s growth and increasing importance for industry professionals, with 200 confirmed exhibitors (compared to 170 in 2022) waiting to share the 5,500 sq m exhibition space. This is a significant result, particularly in light of the current economic climate.
“We are very pleased with this achievement,” says Mario Maggiani, CEO of Promaplast srl, the event organiser. “Despite the challenging period for several sectors, we have exceeded the figures from the previous edition. It is a clear sign of the sector’s interest and desire to innovate.”
Bridge Between Markets: International Delegations at GreenPlast
Thanks to the collaboration with Italian Trade Agency (ICE) and leading trade associations, GreenPlast 2025 will host official delegations of buyers from around 20 countries across Europe, the Mediterranean basin, and the Middle East. Over 100 industry professionals are expected, active in the production and recycling of plastic goods, all seeking innovative solutions to optimise their processes.
International Conference
At the heart of the event will be the international conference ‘Shaping a Sustainable Future for Plastics’ organised by AMI, the UK-based leading information provider in the global plastics industry, and Promaplast. The conference will bring together experts, companies, and stakeholders from across the supply chain to discuss the challenges, regulations, and innovations surrounding polymer sustainability.
Panel discussions will include brand owners, major retailers, raw material producers, and converters, with a focus extending beyond packaging to sectors such as automotive and construction, where plastics are widely used. Topics will range from waste management and both mechanical and chemical recycling to ecodesign, the future of bioplastics, marine pollution, and the use of AI to reduce environmental impact.
In addition, Tech Talks – short presentations delivered by exhibitors – will provide direct insight into the latest advanced technological solutions.
From Function to Emotion: Plastics Reborn Through Art
Sustainability at GreenPlast goes beyond the technical sphere. This is reflected in the eagerly awaited Arts & Plastics exhibition, which in this edition will feature original projects such as the creations of Lady Be, Plastica d’Artista (curated by Pina Inferrera), and Arte da mangiare mangiare Arte and Museo Acqua Franca (MAF) in collaboration with Museo Arte Plastica (MAP).
The purpose of the exhibition is to show that through art, secondary raw materials are capable of telling stories, conveying emotion, and illustrating new possibilities for circularity.
