Allrecipes.Com Launches Print Version

The twenty first century has seen the gradual decline of the publishing industry with the print
enthusiasts worrying about the plausible death of the print media. Despite this a popular cookery website has decided to launch to a print magazine. The much popular, Allrecipes.com website, which was recently acquired by  magazine publisher Meredith Corporation are now planning to come out in print, the first edition of which is expected to come out in mid-November.  The bi-monthly magazine is offered at US$12 for a two-year subscription period on Allrecipes’s website.
As per figures, magazine advertising came down to 8.2% during 2012, although print advertising in the food category increased by almost 10%. Though Internet and the new age media are posing serious threats to the print industry, print industry pundits believe that the demand for print material is here to stay for long.

Allure, a beauty industry magazine is yet another successful title that whopped up its ad pages by 18.5% since 2011. Samir Husni, director of Magazine Innovation Centre at the University of Mississippi, mentions about the strength of Allure. “Allure is much more than a beauty handbook … every issue is sufficient and relevant,” he says. “Its achievement is another reminder that no matter how much beauty and fashion sites proliferate, there is still a space for something delivered in a complete package.”
