In the run-up to drupa 2024 – the number one trade fair for printing technologies scheduled from 28 May to 7 June, 2024, in Düsseldorf, Germany – the highly successful drupa world tour recently finished its Egyptian leg at the upscale Semiramis InterContinental, Cairo. The event was attended by industry stalwarts, leading printers, and converters.
Sabine Geldermann, Director drupa, Portfolio Print Technologies, Messe Düsseldorf, and Thomas Schiemann, Member of the Board of Management, VDMA, provided invaluable insights into the exhibition, ensuring clarity and excitement among the gathered industry professionals.
Geldermann comments, “The enthusiasm and anticipation for drupa has been awesome and it is a fact that governmental institutions, associations, and print service providers are eagerly awaiting drupa, as they urgently need to speed up with the latest technological standards and definitely want to invest at drupa.”
“Demand for printing and paper technologies is steadily growing in Egypt, and this rapid expansion places Egypt among the largest importers of printing and paper technologies in Africa,” she adds.
Walid Qorish, Technical Lead, Private Sector Programs at Management & Training Corporation (MTC) moderated a stimulating panel discussion that featured industry experts including Nadim Elias, Chairman of Egypt’s Chamber of Printing & Packaging Industries, George Simonian, Dean at Faculty of Design & Creative Arts, Ahram Canadian University, Ayman Taha, printing instructor at Heidelberg Egypt – Youssef Allam Group, Osama Dorgham, General Manager at El Shark Factory for Rubber Rolls, and Sherif Elkhiashy.
El Shark Factory’s Osama Dorgham shared invaluable insights on the significance of attending and exhibiting at drupa, along with tips on how to make the most out of this seminal exhibition. “With the much anticipated return of drupa after eight years, we expect a surge in attendance. Print industry professionals are eagerly looking forward to reconnecting, exploring cutting-edge technologies, and showcasing their offerings face-to-face. drupa serves as the ultimate platform for bridging suppliers and end-users, offering tailored solutions for all,” says Dorgham.
