Workflowz has launched, Griffin 1.0 from Tilia Labs, a prepress solution to automate layout creation for wide format printing. Workflowz says, Griffin leverages the Phoenix nesting engine ‘to create true-shape, tightly nested layouts, helping drive down substrate costs, reduce errors, and increase throughput’.
Alan Dixon, CEO at Workflowz says, “Griffin is neutral and agnostic as it will work on anything, unifying in a single way. This software is aimed at wide format printers.” Workflowz says the workflow in Griffin is simple and can be mastered with minimal training.
Artwork files are input into the system with various production information such as quantity, shape, and size. Users can then select from a library a substrate board or roll size and automatically generate tightly nested results. Once nesting has completed, marks such as registration, barcodes, and grommets are automatically added.
Finally, output can be generated for printing and cutting using presets for different devices. The company says all of this can be completed in minutes.
