Canon Emirates, a subsidiary of Canon Middle East opened a new facility which includes a business solutions showroom and expanded office in Abu Dhabi. The facility is the company’s first-ever dedicated business solutions showroom in the capital.
The inauguration was attended by Sheikh Khalid Al Qassimi, Vice Chairman of GIBCA Group and the Managing Director of GIBCA Abu Dhabi Group and Rokus van Iperen, President & CEO of Canon Europe. The facility is part of the company’s overall strategy to further consolidate its presence in the UAE.
“UAE has been a key market for us and the establishment of Canon Emirates as a subsidiary of Canon Middle East in 2007 to specially cater to the market is reflective of our commitment. In line with the vision of Abu Dhabi to foster and promote activities that engage in sustainable development, our latest facility is a strategic step that demonstrates our commitment to provide products and services that foster productivity, efficiency and also support sustainable development among users within the office and professional print industry,” said Naoshi Yamada, deputy managing director, Canon Middle East .
“The successful evolution of Canon Emirates, which marks Canon Middle East ‘s strategic move to strengthen its direct presence in the UAE, has enabled us to expand Canon’s offerings further across Abu Dhabi. In this, we will also build on the established customer base of Canon Emirates in the capital,” said Yamada.

The Middle East market has seen significant overall growth with GDP reaching 4.5% in 2014, in comparison to that of Europe’s 1.7%. Similarly, the emirate of Abu Dhabi is steadily and successfully embracing the Managed Print Services (MPS) facility realising its potential of being cost-effective and highly efficient, within the government, oil & gas, hospitality and medical industry being major buyers. According to Shadi, this growth has provided them with the needed momentum to put strategies in place and further grow the UAE business.
Canon’s business solutions showroom is located on Salam Street, opposite of Abu Dhabi Municipality.
