Brother Embraces Sustainable Future, Installs PV System
Brother Internationale Industriemaschinen GmbH, Brother’s industrial products arm in the EMEA region, has installed a photovoltaic (PV) system on one of its warehouse roofs in Emmerich am Rhein, the company headquarters. In combination with new charging stations for electric vehicles, Brother is actively shaping its energy future and making a significant contribution to climate protection.
The PV system has a total module capacity of 99 kWp. A total of 228 PV modules were installed covering a PV generator area of 455.6 m² with a self-consumption rate of 58.9%. The installation will enable the company to cover a large portion of its energy needs independently, relying on a clean energy supply. Company sources have revealed that this will help them avoid 39,878 kg of CO₂ emissions annually, thereby having a positive impact on the environment.
The new charging stations for electric cars are part of the company’s promotion of electromobility. These measures represent an important contribution to the Brother Group Environmental Vision 2050, which focuses on reducing CO₂ emissions as a central goal. The vision supports the Paris Agreement and aims for a carbon-free society with zero greenhouse gas emissions.
In addition, this project contributes to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 7 ‘Affordable and Clean Energy’ and supports the expansion of renewable energy for a sustainable future.
