Abaad Brings 3D Printing Services To Businesses Across The Region
In 1997, the famous Hollywood movie “Face Off” starring John Travolta and Nicolas Cage made a huge splash when it showed for the first time the possibility of printing human body parts using 3D printer. Back then the technology sounded like stuff of science fiction but now it seems that 3D printing is bound to revolutionize our lives forever.
A company that is set to make its mark as a leading 3D printing solution provider in the region is ABAAD. The Abu Dhabi based firm launched its 3D printing services including 3D scanning and modelling less than a year ago. The 1.6 million dirham project aims to provide 3D printing, prototyping and rapid manufacturing to a host of industries and institutions in the field of engineering, education, medicine and manufacturing.
Younis Elisas Alsulaimi general manager and co-founder of “ABAAD” in an exclusive interview with ME Printer, said: “We are the first company offering full integrated 3D solutions inside UAE. So far companies in UAE have been relying on other countries for 3D printing services.”
But are people ready to embrace the technology? Alsulaimi is optimistic. “The response has been promising so far. We met many customers who are looking for reliable 3D printing services within UAE to save time and money. We are facing some challenges when it comes to market our services. People are yet to fully realize the changes that 3D printing applications can bring to their lives. However we are working hard to educate the market and create awareness about the world of additive manufacturing. “
For his part, Juma Salem Alghafli company’s CEO and co-founder of ABAAD believes the sky’s the limit when you put your efforts and money in such an amazing technology.” 3D technology offers you infinite possibilities. So there is no limit to our ambitions. Our short term plan is to expand and enhance our services, while in the long-run we are committed to install and commission a state-of-the-art and fully integrated 3D production line,” concludes Alghafli.
