Sign Istanbul To Capitalize On Digital Technology

The Sign Istanbul 2013 will be held this year from 28 November to 1st December at the Tüyap Fair and Congress Centre in Istanbul, Turkey.

With more than 90% of space already allocated and more than 400 international and local suppliers expected, SIGN Istanbul 2013 is set to surpass the record breaking event of 2012.  Zekeriya Aytemur, vice managing director of Istanbul Fair Organisation (IFO), the organizer, said “The high level of demand for exhibit space at SIGN Istanbul 2013 confirms the importance of the Turkish market and its pivotal role as a supplier hub for the region. We are delighted that so many leading international and domestic suppliers choose this event to showcase their newest technologies, materials and services.”

SIGN Istanbul 2013, the 15th edition of this annual exhibition, is expected to attract up to 25,000 trade visitors coming from Turkey, the Balkan states, the CIS, Middle-East and North Africa. Mr Aytemur commented “SIGN Istanbul is more than just a display of technologies, it is a vibrant showcase with many live demonstrations where innovative solutions go hand-in-hand with practical advice and cooperative possibilities.”

Digital technology will be the mainstay this year and companies looking to build brand awareness will find a host of innovative and creative advertising and promotional initiatives from the suppliers of digital printing technologies at SIGN Istanbul 2013.

Digital printing technology has become an indispensable part of the wide range of manufacturing industries and in particularly for tailor-made design and production. Its capability to print on different surfaces like folio to fabric, from glass to metal and from plastic to wood has increased its presence in the commercial advertising, signage and promotional sectors.

According to an analysis of the industry, there are some four thousand digital printing machines already in Turkey making it the transfer hub of the region with an average annual production of some twenty five (25) million sqm.

As competition intensifies, those companies that can offer their customers tailor-made solutions will gain a competitive advantage and as such will increasingly turn to the applications of digital technology to deliver this advantage. Its versatility in being able to produce short run, highly personalised designs on a variety of materials at low costs, will ensure that digital printing continues to grab an ever greater market share of the commercial advertising and outdoor promotional market.

Turkey’s role as the region’s digital printing hub is expected to add to the success of SIGN Istanbul, which is a growing fair for the sign making, printing and outdoor advertising market.
