Central Bank Re-Prints 50 Dirham Currency Note

The Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates announced that it would soon put in circulation an amended 50 dirham currency note. The note is reprinted with new security features and will replace the silver metallic thread on the front with a broader (3 mm) colour shifting thread that would read ‘UAE 50’.

Central Bank further stated that the overall design and other specifications of the note are going to remain the same. This amended currency note will be put in circulation as legal tender along with the currency notes currently in circulation with effect from  30/7/2012. The said note will be dispensed to banks in accordance with the Central Bank’s established procedures for cash withdrawal and deposit.
