drupa 2024 Celebrates China Day on 31st May

Affirms the growing influence of China’s printing industry on the global stage.

From 28 May to 7 June, 2024, Düsseldorf will be hosting drupa 2024, recognised as the blue ribbon event for printing technologies. The 11-day extravaganza not only gathers the best and the most innovative global printing technologies, but also doubles up as a platform for communication and cooperation of the printing industry around the world.

Moreover, a fact that has caught the attention of the industry has been the performance of Chinese exhibitors. According to statistics, more than 25% of exhibitors are from China. Given China’s significant contribution to the exhibition over the years and the important position that they command, 31 May, 2024, will be celebrated as drupa 2024 China Day. Besides acknowledging China’s longstanding partnership with drupa, the initiative is also an affirmation of the growing influence of China’s printing industry on the global stage.

China Day in drupa 2024

Latest data from leading market analysts and insight providers International Data Corporation (IDC) shows a 17% year-on-year (YoY) growth for Chinese branded large format printers in 2023, as against a 5.2% YoY drop in international brands. In response to the sluggish domestic demand in 2023, Chinese brands shifted their business focus overseas. Among inkjet printers, Chinese UV printers seized a global share of 19.1% in 2023, surpassing water-based ink printers. Even as major Chinese brands such as Docan and KINGT are expanding the application range of UV printing with their innovative capabilities, IDC believes that Chinese brands have further growth potential in the UV printing market. Despite the weak demand in international trade, Chinese companies continue to improve their competitiveness in the global market with stable quality and mature solutions.

On drupa 2024 China Day, a presentation of the 10th edition of All in Print China – scheduled on 28-31 October, 2024, in Shanghai – will be held. Since its inception in 2003, the trade show has grown in stature representing the entire ecosystem of the printing sector, including publishing, paper packaging, flexible packaging, labelling, among others with the objective to promote trending new technologies throughout the industry chain. The 2023 edition, which also marked the event’s 20th anniversary, was a huge success with a record-breaking exhibition space and the highest number of visitors in the history of the event.

A spectacular Chinese Night has also been planned, presenting an unforgettable experience in networking, relaxation, and entertainment for the Chinese exhibitors, visitors, and international media partners who have travelled to Düsseldorf as part of drupa 2024.
