Major international companies specialized in the field of photography, participated in the sixth edition of Xposure International Photography Festival, which was held at Expo Centre Sharjah from 9-15 February, 2022. The efforts of the largest festival of its kind in the region and the ideal platform it provided to revive their work, display the latest innovative products, and build bridges of communication with the countries of the region and the world, received plaudits from them.
Akshay Talwar, Regional Business Head, UAE, Africa and Levant at Nikon, said that Xposure provided an ideal opportunity to showcase the company’s latest products such as the Nikon Z9 professional mirrorless camera and the momentum it gained from the global photographers’ communities in the festival. “It was a great experience as it was the first event where professional photographers and photography enthusiasts had the chance to get to know the camera up close and book it,” added Talwar.
Shaji Shanmughan, Managing Director at iBrand Connect LLC which specializes in selling basic photography tools, said that he had participated in this year’s festival as it had hosted some of the best photographers in the world. “There is no similar event that gives such coverage and such an opportunity to revive our business; especially as we had showcased our latest products,” he emphasized.
Xposure is a leading photo festival and an official imagery and educational platform combining a range of photography events including solo exhibition spaces for acclaimed photographers, seminars and talks, workshops, portfolio review, screenings, competitions, focus groups, photo walks, and photography awards. The event also hosts a dedicated photographic and video production trade show. The show is also the most significant photography and imaging show in the MENA region, attended by professional photographers, shutterbugs, students, and educators.
Organised by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), the seven-day event was a celebration of world-class photography in which 57 of the world’s leading photographers showcased their unique works.
