World’s First 3D-Printed Mosque Set to Open in UAE by 2025

UAE announced the construction of the first mosque with the 3D technology in the world. The mosque is expected to open at the first quarter of 2025. The construction of the mosque has already started in 2023. It has two floors and can accommodate more than 600 visitors. The area of ​​the mosque is about 2,000 square meters.

Dr. Hamad bin Shaikh Ahmed Al-Shaibany, General Director of IACAD, stated that building the mosque was decided as a result of the vision of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, of the necessity of continuous technological progress and for the UAE to be advanced in all fields. The construction of this mosque is a combination of both Islamic heritage and modern technology.

Also, Mohamed bin Ali Al-Falasi, CEO of mosque affairs sector, explained that Mohamed Sultan Al-Falahi donated for the mosque construction by signing the charter to design and construct the first mosque using 3D printing technology.

For the 3D printing, it takes about 4 months. It is expected that the cost of building this mosque may increase by 30% higher than any other mosque. However, the construction of this 3D mosque is an important step, and it will significantly impact the future of the United Arab Emirates as well.
