Re-Launched American Printer Magazine Stirs Hope and Excitement

 

For more than 130 years American Printer magazine brought news, views and expert analysis on graphic arts industry to people involved in world of ink and paper in US and around the globe. When Katherine O’Brien, editor of the magazine on August 2011 announced that magazine will cease publication, many people in the industry felt sad and shocked. In her blog O’Brien wrote, “There won’t be a September issue. Penton, our parent company, stuck with us through some mighty lean months, but ultimately, there was no foreseeable model to achieve profitability. (Many of our readers are all too familiar with this problem.)”. However soon after the announcement, OutputLinks Communications Group jumped in to save the journal, a move that made everybody happy and excited.

Following the acquisition by OutputLinks Communications Group, the magazine was re-launched in April 2012 and 26,000+ issues were mailed to subscribers around the world. The magazine was first introduced in 1883 and has been a reliable source of information for printers in US and around the globe.
