Saudi’s NPPC to Optimise Performance with KBA Retrofit
Riyadh-based National Printing & Packaging Company (NPPC) is enhancing the production power of its Koenig & Bauer Compacta C408 with a dedicated investment programme. The Saudi text book printing specialist has installed two Compacta C408 presses, one in 2002, followed by another in 2013.
As part of the future proofing project, NPPC has already invested in a reel stand retrofit for its 2002 press. The next step is the retrofit of the PLC (programmable logic controller) and control technology that aims to significantly increase the productivity, efficiency, and reliability of NPPC’s press.
The KBA Compacta C408 double-circumference commercial press is specifically engineered to print high-volume runs and high-pagination products. Their low production cost per thousand copies also gives the press a vital edge in a fiercely competitive market.
NPPC CEO Mansour Alsanie explains, “Thanks to our long-standing partnership with Koenig & Bauer, we expect these operational enhancements to optimise our performance and further increase market competitiveness.”
Michael Holzapfel, Service Manager at Koenig & Bauer Digital & Webfed, says, “We are very pleased to be able to support NPPC with modernised printing technology that enables it to innovate its production to better meet the demands of its clients. It demonstrates Koenig & Bauer’s commitment to supporting the long-term growth and success of its clients long after the initial investment has been made. It also demonstrates how research and development considers all operational demands and helps companies elevated their offerings in a number of cost-efficient ways.”
